30 life lessons you must know about.

Navigating life can be challenging. Turning 30 lead me to reflecting on my life and here are 30 of the top lessons I’ve learnt:

Release your expectations. Accept people for who they are. Love them and have no expectations Just enjoy them.

Be yourself and speak your truth.

HAVE FUN! Whatever that means to you. Do it regularly! By yourself with others or all of the above. Life is not a dress rehearsal we only have one shot. There are two types of people in this world: drainers and radiators. Don’t waste time hanging out with drainers. Ask yourself, does this person add value to my life and make me feel good about myself? After all, you are the average of the five people who you spend most of your time with, so choose wisely.

Feel the fear and do it anyway! That is where growth occurs.

Love yourself and fill your own damn cup. Relying on other peoples love and validation to make yourself feel good sets you up for a fail.

Commit to a job that makes YOU happy! 9 times out of 10 times that is giving back to society and helping others in some way, shape or form. When you have a greater purpose other than yourself you feel fulfilled and joyful. When you have passion it ignites your whole way of living.

Find your own legacy. What do you want to be remembered for?

Be kind. Everyone has a story. They may have reacted negatively to you today but if you really knew what was underneath the layers would you still be angry or would you start to forgive and see things from their perspective?

Open your heart. Surrender to what is and what will be. The moment you let go of what should be you allow what is meant to be.

Identify your own values and what is important to you and live by them

Listen to the stories you tell yourself and others. Do they lift you up and empower you or drag you down and keep you prisoner?

Keep your mind healthy. The words you speak and the mindset you carry are far more powerful than you think. They create your future.

Become a priority in your life, put yourself first and believe you are worthy and enough because you are. Practice self-love daily.

Every single one of us on this earth has the potential and unlimited resources to create the life we want. Believe that you are your only limit.

Life is a mirror; it will keep repeating the lessons you need to learn until you do.

Self-awareness is the ignition for all growth. Once you become aware you can’t help but notice changes and how you can improve.

Happiness is a state and therefore not a destination. It is a choice and it is here and now. “If you’re still looking for that one person who will change life, take a look in the mirror.” – Roman Price

Often the very thing that holds us back is not the situation itself but our thoughts around it.

Your perception is your projection. You have your own inner code, morals, values and life experiences that shape the way you see and experience life. No two people experience this the same way. Don’t correct others to see your way. There is always another option.

DREAM BIG! If you don’t allow yourself the luxury of what could be you’ll end up with whatever will be. IMAGINE WHAT YOU WANT. The sky is not the limit, it is merely the beginning. It is your imagination which deters you from dreaming any bigger and reaching any higher.

When life shuts a door, open it again. It’s a door. That’s how they work.” Options. The universe is full of them.

Don’t attach yourself too much to anything or anyone. Otherwise your happiness is reliant upon that person or thing.

Be present as often as you can be. The past and the future are an illusion. The only moment we have is this one right now.

Be authentic and genuine, mean what you say and say what you mean.

Believe the universe has your back. It will provide for you when you commit to taking action.

Be vulnerable. Let people in. Share your story. It inspires others to do the same.

Let go of grudges. Practice forgiveness, both to yourself and others. Resentment causes pain.

Fail and fail again until you succeed. Sometimes failure hurts but learning from your mistakes and getting back up again is key.

Let go of your ego.
